Welcome to THE BLUEMIND

Brief History: Blue Mind is operated by Participatory Research And Action Network as PRAN [It is a Non- governmental, Research and Developmental Organisation which was registered in 1999 under the West Bengal Societies Registration Act of XXVI of 1961].

Background: The onset of mental health disorders at an early age: Childhood and adolescence are the key periods for every human being when our mental health conditions develop and define our productivity in adulthood. We all know that mental health is one of the most pressing concerns of our time. According to the latest report available, more than one in seven young people between the ages of 10 and 19 have diagnosed with various mental issues around the world, unfortunately, in India; the issue of mental health of a child is often being neglected or rather remain unaddressed by their parents due to lack of awareness or social stigma. In absence of professional guidance and proper care in right time, many children loss their focus of life and suffer from various mental issues like hidden anxiety, fear of loss, lack of self-confidence etc. which ultimately drag them behind by causing a serious impact on their tender mind.

The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic that is entering its recent years has been dangerous in children and adolescent. National and state lockdowns changed the pattern of daily routine of many children and prevent them from accessing social services, disrupting their routines; education and recreation. In addition, insecurity regarding family income and uncertain health conditions left young people angry, frightened, and uncertain about their future.

Mental Health disorders like Autism, Anxiety and Depression issues, Bipolar Disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Eating Disorders, Conduct Disorders, Intellectual Disability, and Schizophrenia can harm children and young people's health, education, life outcomes, and earning potentials.

Every child has potential, to excel in his or her capacity, so we try to change the way we think about mental health and provide special counselling to them. We must ensure that there is a greater understanding after a dialogue with them. Blue Mind, a professional team like clinical psychologists, psychologists, psychological councillors and other mental health personnel, decided to organise mental health camps and provide psychological treatment as well as counselling in all schools, colleges and community in West Bengal, thus enabling them to cope with the challenges with a free spirit to flourish in their lives and most importantly guide them to live a life with dignity and self- actualisation.

At Blue Mind, we believe in the transformative power of psychotherapy, and we are committed to helping you build a foundation for a healthier and more fulfilling life.

The human mind is facing unprecedented demands to adapt appropriate coping mechanisms as a result of the fast pace of technology advancements and associated social upheaval, many people fail. Every year about 20% of the population in India affected with some form of mental disorders that requires active mental healthcare support. The emerging scenario calls for urgent and adequate steps for mental health promotion, prevention of mental disorders, care and rehabilitation services.
